celebration

I’ve long held that life is a work of art we create with every thought, word and deed. I believe in putting as much creative energy into our everyday lives as we can cram: to me that includes how we look after our bodies, our homes, the company we keep, the day to day activities we engage in.

When I started my blog in 2008, its main purpose was to show how that looks on a daily basis. I seek to find the beauty in the small things, the mundane: I believe that the nuggets of gold you have to dig for are always more precious than the glittering jewels that lie on the surface of life.

This website hopes to take that a step further. With audio, video, and longer articles, as well as plenty of pictures, I can share with you the abundance of blessings I experience as I go about my days. This website is about living from the heart, and the art that is revealed when we just choose to be here now to the present moment, and experience it in all its fullness.

Of course there is plenty about food! Food is one of the key tools we have for creating an inner beauty that then ripples out into all areas of our lives. But there’s so much more here than just the food, which we can enjoy exploring together. This website isn’t about me! I won’t be telling you what I had for breakfast every day, who I am hanging out with, and how my children are doing at maths (well, maybe occasionally, but always using real life as a metaphor for understanding the greater truths). This website is about my philosophy of life.

It’s about the power of living from the heart. It’s about the incredible strengths and wisdoms we find inside ourselves when we learn to dig deep. It’s about the wonder and bliss that returns to life as we learn to live in our truths and follow where our souls lead us. It’s full of simple and practical tips that will help guide you on your magical journey.

I don’t believe there’s anything new under the sun. I doubt there’s anything here that you won’t come across easily in some form or other in various spiritual and motivational teachings. I hope that a lot of what you discover here will have you saying, “That’s just what I thought!” or “I knew that already!” But I think we live in a world that is being so poisoned, as we pour toxins into our planets, bodies and minds, that this information needs to be shared far and wide at every possible opportunity. We need it hammered into our thick skulls day after day after day!

It is so easy to get caught up in the stresses of 21st century living, the fears we all share and the worries we all endure can often seem overwhelming, especially in the face of family members and peers who can be unsupportive, uncomprehending, and sometimes downright hostile. Even with the best intentions, it’s all too easy to stray from the righteousness of our hearts when there are so few truly great role models in our culture and so many wrong turns open to us.

My wish is that you find this website a beautiful resource for restoring your faith in life when times are tough; for keeping you strong when everything seems too hard; for reminding you of the magic and miracles that we encounter at every turn, when we choose to tune into the way of the heart and the power of our love.

My desire is that you become successful at tuning into a higher wisdom which is inarguable, at living with a freedom and passion that is contagious, and at shining your own unique spark of divinity into all the dark corners of your life. I want to see a new breed of superheroes, with their super-protective magic bubble force field shields surrounding them, going out into the world to turn this current mess around with the greatest weapon we have – love.

this month (March 2010) i have started taking joy in the small mundane jobs..after 14 years of being a mother this is a wonderful achievement!.. and it came as a balance to putting myself out there in the world in a big way (for me) after giving a public talk which has always terrified me..but i felt the fear and did it anyway and it didn’t go as well as i had hoped but after that i was so delighted to come home, my lovely, cosy. safe home and hang out the laundry and do the washing up…aaaahh bliss! no thinking, just doing and breathing..and wrapping myself in a blanket of kindness..
